Dear Pet Owner,
We have used Sue Higbee's Pet Sitting Service several times and feel she is very capable and caring in her responsilitites toward the care of our cats while we were away. Sue also offers to pick up the mail, newspapers and flyers, water plants and turn lights on and off to give your home an occupied look.

We highly recommend Sue as a provider for your pet sitting needs.

I just wanted to send an email to give you a reference for all the help you have given me...sue is a VERY responsible, reliable, concerned and loving pet sitter...the dogs are always so calm after her visits...she has never missed a visit and the dogs love her...I would have no reservations about using Sue for any pet or house sitting needs...Melissa

Sue loves and cares for our animals with as much caring and devotion as if they were her own. And she goes the extra mile for them, too! I'd recommend her service to everyone I know.

Sue Higbee has been a godsend in my life. She truly loves my dog, is dependable, and most importantly, honest. I have no qualms about allowing her access to my home while I'm away. Just like a quality daycare provider, Sue leaves notes about the activity she and Amos engage in. I can unconditionally recommend her services to any potential client.

We are very fortunate to have found Sue's Petfriends to care for our 2 dogs. She has genuine affection for our animals and they look forward to her visits. The extra time Sue and Dave provide at visits to give your animals attention and play time is a bonus not usually offered by the majority of pet sitters. We appreciate their consistent dependability and the high standards they uphold when providing care. There is always a detailed report of our dogs' activities when we return. We highly recommend utilizing Sue's Petfriends for all your pet sitting needs. I am no longer stressed when leaving our furry kids when I know they are being cared for by Sue and Dave.

Sue,

Thank you very much for taking care of Babycakes. This was my first
experience using a pet sitter service and I am very satisfied. It gave me
such a peace of mind to know that a responsible, reliable, and experienced
person was taking care of our shy Babycakes. He seemed very calm and happy
upon my return. Thanks for taking care of him and, especially, for going an
extra mile to win him over. He is a very loving cat, but is not used to
other people. Nevertheless, he seems to like you a lot.  That's the best
recommendation one can give. Special thanks for the little report.

Sincerely,

Mylene Farias, Chandler, AZ

I learned of Sue's Pet Friends when I received a postcard in the mail. The timing couldn't have been better- my husband and I were planning a ten-day trip to Hawaii, and we came to the realization boarding our two puppies at the vet for 10 days wasn't going to work out. I called Sue, and we set up a time to meet. Her and Dave instantly put us at ease- the dogs responded to them so well, and we could tell they really cared about giving animals the best possible care. We requested they stay overnight with our dogs while we were gone, and they agreed to do so for a reasonable price. We were elated to not disrupt the routine for the dogs, and felt safe having Sue and Dave keep an eye on our home while being out of state for vacation. We have used Sue's Pet Friends many times since our initial experience, and their service has given us great peace of mind when we travel. We really appreciate the flexibility the service provides us, and our animals enjoy hanging out with "Uncle Dave" too! I would recommend Sue's Pet Friends to anyone traveling that doesn't feel comfortable boarding their animals, you will be so glad you called Sue and Dave.

Neuter Project in Maricopa County

Maddie’s® Spay/Neuter Project in Maricopa County
General Information
Many veterinarians in our community are participating in an important new spay/neuter project to help reduce the homeless dog and cat population in Maricopa County. They have agreed to provide spay and neuter surgeries at a reduced cost to qualifying clients as part of a community-wide effort called Maddie’s® Spay/Neuter Project in Maricopa County.
The goal of the project is to make Maricopa County a place where healthy and treatable dogs and cats can be guaranteed loving homes, so that by the end of 2012, at the end of the grant project, no healthy or treatable dogs or cats will have to be euthanized in our animal shelters! Maddie’s® Spay/Neuter Project is being administered by the Arizona Animal Welfare League, funded by a
generous grant from Maddie’s Fund,® and made possible by the participating veterinarians who perform these surgeries at a reduced fee.
Maddie’s® Spay/Neuter Project has a low-income component and a Pit Bull / Pit Bull Mix component.
The low-income component will provide very low-cost spay or neuter surgeries for the dogs and cats of Maricopa County’s low-income residents. The program will make spay/neuter procedures much more accessible to owners/caregivers struggling to make ends meet. To utilize this program, clients need only to locate a participating veterinarian in their area and demonstrate proof of low-income status by presenting a qualifying AHCCCS card and photo identification card. A co-payment may be collected from the client. The maximum co-payment the veterinarian or clinic can collect is $20 for each dog surgery and $10 for each cat surgery.
In an effort to strongly encourage caregivers of the pit bulls/pit bull mixes to participate in the spay/neuter project, the co-pay requirement and low-income requirement are both waived for caregivers of pit bulls. Additionally, caregivers of the pit bulls/pit bull mixes will be offered a $20 incentive to spay/neuter their dog(s), to be paid via a check mailed to the caregiver following the surgery. Our goal is to decrease the large number of unwanted dogs and cats that are euthanized in animal shelters each year. Fewer litters of puppies and kittens will mean fewer animals in shelters that are not placed in homes.
